Welcome to the first 2007 newsletter. The website is progressing, We have just acquired www.weltonridingclub.org.uk which is now up and running. The site contains information and news about the Club and also schedules for our forthcoming events. We would like to add a photograph or two; if you have anything suitable, please email to ashlea21@btinternet.com.
58 people have joined or rejoined so far this year. Welcome to new members Barbara Chaloner, Kelly Greig, Sam Howells, Victoria Cushion, Jo Horton, Dionne Coulson, Laura Abbott and Karen Murdoch. We look forward to seeing you all soon.

There will be a team training night on 5th March at Riseholme. Please ring Isobel to attend this event which is mainly for those jumping in teams at Tickhill.

Change of date. The Evening dressage and Clear Round Jumping at Laughterton in June is now on Wednesday 13th June instead of the 20th which is Lincolnshire Show.

If you are interested in competing in teams or as individuals in any of these competitions, please contact Helen or Isobel. You will need to know that you can compete at the finals if you are lucky enough to qualify. Dates of National championships are on the back of your membership card. There are different eligibility rules for the various levels of competition, which can be found on the BRC website.
***** FLU VACCINATIONS ******
Whatever discipline you wish to compete in, ALL horses have to have up to date flu vaccinations. BRC are very strict about this. The flu vacc rules are on the BRC website and will be posted on ours as well. If you are in doubt, please ask Jo or Victoria to check your horse’s certificate well before the date of competition. A horse may not compete within a fortnight of having a vaccination.
HELPERS At every event lots of help is needed and our members are very good at providing this for our club activities.
In order to be able to send teams to area Competitions, we have to provide fence judges/ ring stewards/ etc. So if you hope to be in a team, please recruit a family member or friend to come and do a stint, so that you can ride your horse! If we don’t provide the help, we cannot compete or qualify.
Don’t forget to book for Tim Stockdale at Arena UK on Wednesday 7 March. This will be a very entertaining evening for a mere £20 for RC members £22 others. £30 at the door. If enough people wish to go, we can organise a minibus.
EMDG have a show jumping show at Tickhill on Saturday 24th February – an ideal opportunity to compete where the Novice Indoor SJ Qualifier is to be held on 10th March.
BURTON HUNT TEAM CHASE Sunday 11th March. Is any one interested in putting a team together for this? If so ring Jo Flear Charlton.
POACHER HARNESS CLUB Open evening at Swinderby Village Hall 17th March. Homeopathy, Aromatherapy for horse and human by Annabel Jay and Equine Dentistry by Boz Smith from Lincolnshire. Light Refreshments. Entry £2. All welcome.
